Woodhill Primary School wanted to integrate technology across the curriculum and use it to establish links with other schools in Scotland and abroad. To achieve the first objective, the school encouraged students to develop podcasts and blogs which could be used as learning materials. Material was created to support French and English lessons as well as wider issues such as health and globalisation. Parents were given information about the blogs and encouraged to view the information online. It was also shared with partner schools in Scotland, England, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Czech Republic and China.
Susan Buchanan, Principal Teacher, Woodhill Primary School, said:
"The aim of using blogs and podcasts was to motivate the students and get their work out of the school context and into the wider world. It is amazing how motivated and engaged the students are about using these technologies and the wide range of skills they develop in addition to technical skills."
