Wales, Ysgol Glanwydden: Technology helps students in Wales tackle boredom
After discussing the issues affecting them, students at Ysgol Glanwydden School felt that there was nothing for them to do in their spare time. So they decided to campaign to local councillors in the hope that they would open a junior youth club to complement the existing youth club.
Students used digital photography to show how boredom could result in anti-social behaviour and presented their ideas to local councillors using PowerPoint presentations and posters.
If the campaign for a Junior Youth Club is successful, a page will be added to the school website for the pupils to show what happens at the club and attract new members.
Ysgol Glanwydden’s entry said:
“The short film, which pupils made to document the project, was sent on DVD to councillors who were not present at the live presentation so that we could showcase how hard the students worked on the project and their ideas for the youth club.”
